Seniors Social Support

At CECAL, our robust Seniors Social Support program assists many members of our community to maintain a strong social connection, physical and mental wellbeing, and independence. The program is designed to assist frail, older people who are socially isolated or have functional limitations to participate in community life. The structured activities provided in a group-based environment are designed to develop, maintain and support social interaction and independent living.

Weekly program

We operate regular social support groups every week, funded by the Australian Government Department of Health under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). We meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from approx. 10am–1:30pm.
Come to share a chat, a cup of tea and a meal with new friends, and participate in a wide range of program activities – from gentle exercise, craft and trivia, to talks and workshops. If you have mobility issues, we can transport you to CECAL for a small fee.

Community outings

We organise regular outings by bus to places all over Sydney. There’s something for everyone – we’ve visited the Blue Mountains, Warragamba Dam, and the Art Gallery of NSW to see the Archibald Prize.
You can also join us for community events we run throughout the year – keep an eye on our calendar and quarterly newsletter to stay up to date.

Sounds great, how do I join?
