CECAL’s Youth Space is an exciting new addition to the Centre, zooming in close on the needs of young people aged 10–14 years old in the Canterbury and Hurlstone Park area in their interactions with their environment and the wider community. The program is also here as a touchpoint, putting young people in contact with referral services, information, and other support. It is funded by the Office of Responsible Gambling.
NEW PROGRAM for March 2026 - Free Yoga and Wellbeing Sessions- Every Fridays at 4pm at the the Centre for 10-14 year olds.
A qualified facilitator will lead yoga and guided breathing sessions on Fridays at 4pm over four weeks. The program is designed for young people aged 10–14 and focuses on supporting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive youth engagement.
Mindful breathing – using controlled breath techniques to support the nervous system back to calm
Yoga poses – a variety of poses that include twists, forward + backbends, balancing, strengthening + toning to build strength, flexibility and balance.
Mindful practices - focusing awareness on the present moment; acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts, + bodily sensations without judgement.
Meditation techniques – short guided meditation to bring stillness and calm

CECAL Youth Space
We are a school-based program for students age between 10-14 that boosts their engagement in school. Through interactive workshops, students are motivated to engage in activities that foster important life skills. You can look forward to fun skills-building activities, conversations around health and well-being, and activities to foster strong community links.
